Our Story

Founded on vision

Umar Garments was established in 1990 by Khalid Ur Rehman Butt, with strategic financial support from Allied Bank that enabled him to establish a significant presence in Pakistan's textile industry. Over the following three decades the company has grown into one of Pakistan's leading garment manufacturers and exporters of knitted fashionwear.

A global customer base

We have been exporting knitted garments for over 15 years to Europe — primarily Germany, with the Lidl supermarket chain as a long-standing buyer — and more recently to the USA, where we work with a variety of well-established brands.

Sustainability at the core

Our commitment to sustainability is at the core of everything we do. We deliver 100% sustainable garments using sustainable yarns and dyes, water-saving dye jets, and full transparency through regular third-party audits. Every garment from knitting to finished goods is Class 1 Oeko-Tex certified, ensuring baby safety. Our facilities achieved Inditex's Joint Life Program qualification in early 2020 — one of the industry's toughest sustainability benchmarks.
